Motorola underscored its plan to focus on emerging markets by unveiling the Moto G at a huge event in Sao Paulo, Brazil in November last year. The budget-friendly smartphone was supposed to have reached Indian shores by January 2014.

Samsung Galaxy S5 to be cheaper than Galaxy S4 at launch: Report
Samsung finally took the wraps off its latest flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S5, amidst much fanfare at MWC 2014 in Barcelona. The South Korean manufacturer at the event however, did not reveal a price for its Galaxy S5. According to a Korean report, Samsung is in talks with various international mobile carriers, before it announces an official price. Phone Arena, citing a Korean publication, has claimed that Samsung is considering pricing its latest 2014 flagship lower than the competition, such as the Sony Xperia Z2. Further, if the Korean report is to be believed, the company might price the Galaxy S5 lower than the company's 2013 flagship, the Galaxy S4 ( launched in India at Rs. 41,500 last year).

Micromaxhas listed two new mid-range smartphones - the Canvas Blaze HD and Canvas Duet II - on its official site without pricing or availability details. Notably, the Micromax Canvas Blaze HD (EG 116) is the successor to the Canvas Blaze which was launched in partnership with telecom service provider MTSin December last year. As of now, there is no word whether the Canvas Blaze HD smartphone is also under the same partnership with MTS. The Micromax Canvas Duet II, on the other hand, was available via an e-commerce website earlier in February at Rs. 15,790. However, we are yet to see an official pricing of the device.

The Samsung Galaxy NotePro is now up for pre-order in India via the company's official e-store for Rs. 65,575. The tablet boasts of a 12.2-inch display, making it the largest Samsung tablet so far. Samsung had unveiled the Galaxy NoteProat its recently held Samsung Forum event. The tablet has a 12.2-inch TFT display with 2560 x 1600 pixels resolution. It runs Android 4.4 KiKat and is powered by an octa-core processor (1.9GHz Quad + 1.3GHz Quad) along with 3GB of RAM. The Galaxy NotePro has an 8MP rear camera and 2MP front camera, 32GB built-in storage and supports additional storage up to 64GB via microSD. For connectivity, the tablet supports voice calling (SIM), 3G, Wi-Fi, USB3.0, and Bluetooth 4.0. The tablet is powered by a 9,500mAh battery, which is rated to deliver up to 54 hours of talktime.
